We've been working with the Women Liberal Democrats to set up an initiative called 'Women Working For Women'.

The aim is to help female PPC's with their campaigns. You can help as much as you want and do whatever you can.

This is really good experience and is also a great networking opportunity.

We are holding a targeted CGB Action Day on Saturday 10th April, 10:30am - 4pm

Any help much appreciated to find those 1149 votes Sal needs to beat a Labour Minister mired in the expenses scandal! Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill is also up for re-election, along with 16 council seats. There's a great deal to do, and a real buzz!

There will be a short training session before the day to help you with canvassing, along with cake. There will also be a meal at the end of the day for all those to help.

Bridget Fox: Islington South & Finsbury

Islington Liberal Democrats are working hard to elect Bridget Fox as the first Lib Dem MP for Islington South & Finsbury and to retain Liberal Democrat control of Islington Council, where our group has one of the highest proportions of women councillors of any in the country.

All our wards and the Liberal Democrat office are easily accessible from either Kings Cross, Highbury & Islington or Angel tube stations and there is an active and fun team to welcome you. We make welcoming and training new activists a priority alongside appreciating the input of experienced campaigners. Working in teams, with lunch provided and the option of an evening out are all part of the Islington campaign experience.

Tam Langley: Lewisham

We're going to be out there working hard almost every day, with a lot of canvassing and leafleting. They're great fun, and training will be provided if you've not canvassed before. As usual it will be followed by good food and drink afterwards at a local pub. If you'd like to join us, we're meeting at 1pm on Sunday at 197 Brockley Rise, a few minutes walk from Honor Oak Park station.

3rd April: Deliver Focus leaflets, with extra deliveries of letters on most of the other weekends

Through April until election: Big Election push with various leaflets and letters.

Besides delivering leaflets, we are out canvassing every Sunday (11am to 2pm), Monday (6pm to 8:30pm) and Tuesday (6pm to 8.30pm). If you can join us then please feel free just to turn up. Thank you so much for your help. As you know we rely entirely on volunteers as we do not have Labour's big union money nor the millions given by businessmen like Lord Ashcroft to the Tories. It's a better way to do things because it comes from the heart, but I know it's hard work sometimes!

Susan Kramer: Richmond Park and North Kingston

Giving up just a couple of hours between now and the election could make all the difference. We have now opened up our new office - 42 Upper Richmond Road West, SW14 8DD - to volunteers Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm so if you would like to do some clerical work please pop down, you'll receive a very warm welcome. We are also continuing to hold action days on both Saturday and Sunday every weekend. On both days we are canvassing and delivering, you can do whatever you prefer. For those who are not able to doorknock, we have six phone lines available for telephone canvassing in the office. We provide full training and scripts. The office is open everyday from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday for clerical work in addition to our regular 'stuffing parties'. At the moment we have envelope stuffing for the members newsletter, as well as blue letter addressing. No need to let us know when you plan to come in, just come along whenever you're free for a warm welcome and plentiful tea and biscuits. Carol Woods: Durham City

Every Wednesday evening we will be in the Lib Dem office in Durham doing clerical work, printing, stuffing and some telephone canvassing. We will be there from 6-8pm at 55a Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3HN. Anyone who needs picking up from the station etc please let us know and we will collect them.

We are now heading into the final straight before the General Election is called and March will be an extremely busy month. Now is the time for target seat candidates to start making unreasonable demands and I am no exception to that. We have had such good news over the past few weeks and I think the campaign is really gaining momentum: the sitting MP has now conceded it is a close race and that the Liberal Democrats are putting up a strong challenge. So please read on and volunteer - the garden doesn't need weeded, the spring cleaning can wait till May and cancelling a few social engagements to help get the first Lib Dem MP in Glasgow North since Roy Jenkins will be something to tell your grandchildren! CANVASSING - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We had a great session with Hugh O'Donnell MSP and Robert Brown MSP on Sat 27th Feb, after the Otago Lane demo but we need more data and we need it now. If you like talking to people and you can spare a couple of hours on a midweek evening, we are out in the constituency most evenings.
