Mary will fight Bexhill & Battle for the Lib Dems

Bexhill and Battle Liberal Democrats have chosen Mary Varrall to be their PPC again for the next General Election.

Mary and her husband Steve live in Etchingham where she runs her own Landscape Design and Management business with clients throughout East Sussex and Kent.

In May 2005 Mary polled over 11,000 votes, coming a strong second in one of the Tories' safest seats. She is active in local politics, chairing her local parish council and the Rother Association of Local Councils. She is also a co-opted member of Rother District Council as Vice Chair of the Standards Committee.

Mary has been an active campaigner since joining the Local Party in 2001 and is currently Chair of her branch and Vice Chair of the Local Party.

Mary said: "I am delighted that the Constituency Party has again shown faith in me and I look forward to promoting our strong Liberal Democrat policies to tackle the many challenges this constituency offers, and to raising the profile of the Liberal Democrats in Bexhill and Battle."
