Local campaigner and Worthing Councillor Claire Potter has been selected by party members to fight the next General Election for the Liberal Democrats.

At a packed meeting held in late November, local Liberal Democrats voted for Claire to stand against the Tories and be their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Worthing West.

Claire said: "I am delighted to have been chosen to stand in Worthing West for the Liberal Democrats. I am looking forward to meeting the residents of the constituency over the next few months. It is time for change in Worthing West - we all know that Labour can not win here."

Commenting on her selection, leader of the Liberal Democrats on Worthing Borough Council Bob Smytherman said: "Claire Potter is an excellent Councillor and will be a great candidate. She will make a superb parliamentary campaigner and MP".
