Laura Murphy selected to fight Tunbridge Wells11.20.25pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 14th Sep 2004
Tunbridge Wells Liberal Democrats have selected their PPC, Laura Murphy, to challenge Conservative Archie Norman, MP at the next general election. Laura is an independent management trainer and consultant, with over 20 years experience in the health and social care sectors, education and employment. Laura is currently a District Councillor for Wealden, Chair of the District's Overview and Scrutiny Select Committee and deputy group leader. "The people of Tunbridge Wells are tired of Tory ineptitude at local and national level," said Laura. "We have demonstrated, with our principled stand on Iraq, our campaigns on pensions, free personal care, health and education and scrapping the poll tax, that the Liberal Democrats are the only credible alternative to Labour."
