Campaign for Gender Balance - Bringing Balance Through Support

Campaign for Gender Balance

Jo Swinson

It's easy to agree that there are too few women MPs (just 1 in 5 overall, and only 1 in 7 among Lib Dem MPs), but if you want to change that, what can you do?

The Campaign for Gender Balance brings together people in the Lib Dems who want to make a difference. Whether you are a man or a woman, we need your help. Sign up to receive updates from us (see below) and support our work. Encourage women you know who would be good candidates to bite the bullet and go for it - and let us know about them so we can offer support every step of the way.

If you are a woman thinking about your next steps in politics, get in touch with us and we will talk you through the processes, giving advice, training and practical help. We can increase women's representation - with your help.

New Candidates Approval Process Launched!

Fri 15th Aug 2008

An exciting new approvals process has recently been launched by the English Candidates Office which hopes to streamline and improve the way in which potential candidates can get onto the approved list. The new process involves a shorter and more accessible application form, and an assessment day based around a clear set of competencies - if you are interested in applying for approval, now is the time to go for it!
